Violet Georgina Tivy (1889-1977) M. Gerald Stanbridge
Violet Georgina Tivy
(Still under construction).
She married Gerald Stanbridge and they had a family, either in Ireland
or England. One son, Brian entered the Royal Air Force during World War
II and was posted to Rivers for training under the British Commonwealth
Air Training Program. While there he met my parents, sister Mary and brother
Bill. I only spoke to him by long distance phone from Halifax where I was
serving in the Navy. Brian, who lives in England had a distinguished career,
ending up as personal pilot to the Duke of Edinborough with the rank of
Group Captain.
William Norman Tivy and his wife June met Violet in her later years
while she was living in England and obtained a recording of some of her
family memories including the item concerning our dad (Norman Tivy) who
had curly hair as a youngster...."do you remember, do you remember the
woolly sheep"?
